According to the internal party sources the so called statement made by Rauff Hakeem claiming that the Muslim population living in Eastern province needs a new administrative district, is a result of Ali’s mistranslation.

What Hakeem has actually requested is an office which comprises of Tamil speaking officials.

However, the general secretary conveying this message to Sinhala newspapers has mistranslated office to administrative district, reports say.
