He was speaking at the handover of housing and land ownership deeds to members of the armed forces under ‘Sathviru Urumaya’ programme in Colombo today (12).

The president said he was displeased by the Bribery Commission’s having summoned the former Navy commanders for questioning.

He said he raised this matter at a meeting yesterday with the prime minister and members of the cabinet too.

Independent commissions and other bodies investigating bribery and corruption allegations should keep the president and the prime minister informed about developments, said the president.
