"Of those that were not made public, there are a few reports that are important for their relevance to present day socio-political developments. One is the report of the Mahanama Thilakaratne Commission that investigated police atrocities in Katunayake FTZ as there is presently a new trend in suppressing trade union activities at times using even physical threats, especially in the export manufacturing sector. The other is the APRC appointed in July 2006 that sat through 128 long sessions in finding a consensual 'home grown' answer to power sharing within a new democratic Constitution. Their final report was completed and handed over to the President in July 2010" says the letter.
It further says, the APRC Final Report is an important document for public debate in the context of a new Constitution being drafted by the present government and therefore as DecentLanka2015 they believe, it is the responsibility of the President to make this report public without any further delay.
