Earlier, Sri Lanka's state-run Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) had proposed to the Public Utilities Commission a 5 percent tariff hike across the board, saying it was responding to a 5 percent gap in revenues identified by the regulator for the next six months based on the costs of the utility.
