'Sri Lanka Guardian Essays' announced

The Sri Lanka Guardian editorial announces the launch of their new initiative - the 'Sri Lanka Guardian Essays', which aims to publish selected essays on various subjects every Saturday.

The initiative is introduced towards celebrating its 10th anniversary, in a year’s time.

"The essay will be available in text format as well as in audio format. Our priority is to publish excerpts from selected books, but, the opportunity for submissions is available to all. The editorial team will select, acknowledge and approve all submissions prior to publication," they say.

"Today, July 23, 2016, we have published our inaugural essay written by world-renowned thinker and historian Professor Romila Thapar, on Nationalism. The essay was originally published in the recent book, On Nationalism, Romila Thapar, A. G. Noorani and Sadanand Menon which was printed early this month."

"All rights of the re-published essays in the Sri Lanka Guardian Essays are reserved by the Authors and Publishers who granted us permission and no part of any essay may be reproduced in any form without permission from its original sources," they further add.
