A group of joint opposition MPs has pointed out to Mahinda that they would not be able to avoid the blame if the SLFP became permanently divided after the May Day rally.
However, he has rejected them, stressed there was no point in staying under Maithripala Sirisena’s leadership and said a new party should be formed.
He said all should work according to the instructions of Basil Rajapaksa.
In the course of his organizing work, Basil is these days visiting the towns and was in Karandeniya yesterday (25) to address a public meeting.
Raise voice against govt.
He urged people to come for the Kirulapone rally to raise their voices against especially the tax burdens and threats to the unitary status of the country under the present regime.
Doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs and others who had never before attended May Day rallies will be there at Kirulapone in vehicle processions, he predicted.
