Brett Lee's Bollywood debut on August 05

Ace Australian fast bowler Brett Lee's debut Bollywood film UnIndian now has a release date.

According to a report in The Times of India, the romantic comedy starring Lee and Angry Indian Goddesses actor Tannishtha Chatterjee will release India-wide on August 05.

The 39-year-old Australian fast bowler began shooting the film in October, 2014. Shooting wrapped up in April, 2015.

This year, the film was screened at the 69th Cannes Film Festival.

The film is directed by Australia-based Anupam Sharma, best known for directing the tongue-in-cheek documentary Indian Aussies: Terms & Conditions Apply, based on the lives of Indian Australians.

UnIndian is the story of the romantic relationship between Australian teacher Will (Lee) and Indian single mother Meera (Chatterjee), whose family, along the larger NRI (Non-Resident Indian) community, finds it difficult to come to terms with the unlikely union.

Besides starring Gulshan Grover and Supriya Pathak in important supporting rules, the film also stars artistes from both India and Australia like Akash Khurana, John Howard, Pallavi Sharda, Tammy Bartaiya and Tiriel More.The music is being composed by Salim and Sulaiman (Chak De India, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl)

Producer and actor Vivek Vaswani is the senior advisor for UnIndian's release and distribution in India,

Produced by Anupam Sharma, Lisa Duff and Nitika Thakur, the film is the first production of of the newly established Australia India Film Fund (AIFF), and Screen Australia.
