Provincial Councillor to file case against Skyline Featured

A Tissamaharamaya Provincial Councillor is to seek legal redress against Skyline Aviation, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns.

The Provincial Councillor cites that the company has committed a massive tax fraud, misleading his home province as well as the entire country while enjoying the tax concessions that should have been enjoyed by investors of his own region.

Following the revelation made by 'Sri Lanka Mirror' with regard to the tax fraud of Skyline Aviation, the provincial councillor himself has investigated the situation and decided to take legal actions.

The particular case is to be field by a leading lawyer in Colombo and the Director of Board of Investment , the head of Civil Aviation Authority and Air force chief are to be named as the respondents.

Skyline is said to be headed by a one Kurukulasooriya Anthony Romesh Fernando, who is a textile businessman facing indictment charges over a forged signature.

According to what he said to the Island Newspaper, the project is an investment of over Rs. 61.08 million.

The company has been initiated in 2006 under the 300 Enterprises Programme of the Board Of Investment (BOI).However, details have now emerged that the company has been enjoying tax incentives granted by the BOI while violating the relevant regulations.
