This measure could have been taken to silence my voice raised against the drug menace in the country, he added.
Noting that a project was launched to collect data on well known drug racketeers during the last 10 months of his tenure, Dr. Samarasinghe added that measures were taken to set up a South Asian intelligence unit over several matters including drug and human smugglers as well as money laundering.
Details on this regard were handed over to the President, Prime minister and the relevant minister.
