Earlier, the OIC of the FCID, the DIG and Western Province ASP were noticed to show cause on this regard.

The OIC had said that the Attorney General on Oct. 17 had advised to arrest Mr. Weeratunga and Mr. Pelpita.

However, he said that he was compelled to appear before the Attanagalla Courts on that day and therefore, had filed a case against the duo on the following day.

Magistrate Pieris accepted the explanation and the apology of the OIC and released him.
