Who stole floodlights?
One of the biggest thefts that has taken place at SLC in the past is over its issuance of 100 floodlights worth Rs. 88,236,000 to Carlton Motor Sports Club, whose head is ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son MP Namal Rajapaksa.
The request for the floodlights was made to the then SLC CEO Ajith Jayasekara. (Copy of the letter is given below)
The approval for same was given by SLC’s chief engineer. (Copy of the letter is given below)
Accordingly, 100 floodlights of 2,000 watts each were handed over to presidential security division member M.M.I.S. Bandara (NIC no. 810843950V) of the Army, and was transported by the Army lorry bearing no. 2336. (Copy of the relevant document is given below)
There is no mention of a return of the floodlights to SLC, and aren’t the secretary, CEO and the chief engineer responsible?
