Malinga claims fully fit; selectors yet to decide Featured

Lasith Malinga believes that the foot injury that kept him away from cricket for several months is now completely healed, and he is now back in training.

He has told a daily newspaper that he wanted to play in Tilakeratne Dilshan’s final international match, and that the selectors should answer as to why he was not included.

Malinga also said that he would play if he was recalled to the side for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour.

Chief selector Sanath Jayasuriya said a decision would be taken on the basis of Malinga’s medical reports.

A pool is yet to be named for the tour.

Recommendations by Prof. Arjuna de Silva, Dr. Tharindu Wijesinghe and the national team’s physiotherapist will decide if Malinga will be fit to play.
