Arrested Nuwan Kulasekara released on bail

Nuwan Kulasekara, the Sri Lankan fast bowler, has been released on bail after being involved in a road accident causing the death of a 28-year-old motorcyclist. The 34-year-old pacer was on his way back to Colombo from Kandy when the accident happened, on Monday (September 19) morning, and arrested by the local police.

"Preliminary inquiries have revealed that Mr Kulasekara was returning to Colombo from Kandy, when the unfortunate motorcycle rider who was travelling in the opposite direction had lost control of his bike whilst trying to overtake a bus and got flung into Mr Kulasekara's path," Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a release.

Kulasekara last appeared for Sri Lanka in the 2016 ICC World Twenty20. Since then, he has retired from Test cricket to concentrate on his limited-overs career.
