Police say that the incident had taken place over the last weekend.

The lottery ticket which won a cash prize or Rs. 500,000 has been found in the possession of the arrested suspect, who is a resident of Jayanthi Mawatha in Anuradhapura.

The suspect is to be produced before courts today.
