Accordingly, a specialist doctor could charge a fee of between Rs. 250 and Rs. 2,000.

The charge for the hospital, medical centre etc. should be between Rs. 100 and Rs. 500, said the council.

When examining a patient at channeling services, a doctor should allot at least 10 minutes for each patient.

Secretary of the council Dr. Kanthi Ariyaratne said these charges have been specified since late 2014.

The health ministry will take appropriate action with regard to violations of these specifications, she said.
