The organization recently raised funds to pay a compensation ordered by courts to be paid by retired Maj. Wimal Wickramage.

Its convener Maj. Ajith Prasanna said at a media briefing in Colombo yesterday (27) that certain others too, collected money for him thereafter.

However, a group including MP Bandula Gunawardena is trying to take the full credit for the funding, he charged.

When the collection reached Rs. 1.85 million, he said, he told Wickrmage to stop collecting money.

However, Bandula Gunawardena collected money at Godagama two days ago, Prasanna charged, adding that Wickramage too, was now doing what the MP wants says.

That goes against the common objective of committing on behalf of war heroes, he added.
