Noting that the villages of Damiana, Gurukumbura, Wathuyaya and Nidahangala are facing a severe drought, the tribal chief says that there is a dire need for water.
He adds that rain cannot be expected for another few months.
He also says that unlike in the past years, no measures have been taken by the Pradeshiya Sabhas and Divisional Secretariats to initiate a program to provide water for the people in the area.
Therefore, he urges authorities to provide them with at least drinking water.
