FCID to probe Muthu Sivalingam

Muthu Sivalingam MP the namesake leader of The Ceylon workers congress and his directors are to be investigated by FCID after the COPE has studied and finalized the report.

Arumugam Thondaman made a request to donate 40 buses to then Indian Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh to be used for the welfare of the estate worker community.

The buses were registered to a private company called Annai Kothai Enterpremier.

The company had been registered under Thondaman’s grandmother – Saumyamoorthy Thondaman’s wife while Thondaman’s daughter Kothai Nachiyar and Muthu Sivalingam’s daughter Vani Sivalingam act as directors of the company.

Despite they were donated for the welfare of worker community, the buses were not made available for their use.

The children of the plantation workers are not in a position to travel to school in the donated buses and no one is to question this unbearable situation.

However, the buses were used for transport in family weddings and funerals, family tours and especially for election campaigns.

The buses were also hired for various functions.

The next report is misuse of funds released by the treasury to Tondaman foundation - more than 300 million Rupees were given during the period of 2013 and 2014 - and appointing a consultant and company named Serendipity Consultant Services in an improper manner.

The consultant is none other than Arumugam Thondaman’s word goddess the Hyderabadi Rooparam who draws a consultant fee of 300,000 LKR for the period of over 3 years who is unsuitable for the particular post as COPE learnt.

Further the misappropriation of funds of Prajasakti and Navashakthi by this women and the directors of Thondaman foundation including Muthu Sivalingam is to be investigated.
