Pregnant women warned from foreign travel

The Health Ministry requests pregnant women to refrain from foreign travel as the Zika virus is spreading and could cause cause birth defects on unborn children.

Earlier, media reported that Sri Lanka’s main international airport and the Colombo Port have been placed on high alert to prevent the spread of the Zika virus and Chikungunya, which is raging in Asia.
