Participants from various parties had honest intentions, he said, adding certain outsiders were the ones who had created some trouble.

However, SLFP general secretary Duminda Dissanayake charges that Rajapaksa and his group had committed a very lowly act similar to spitting on own parents.

Rajapaksa will never escape from this traitorous sin, which will be a black mark for the party, and by which he and his cronies had insulted the democracy-loving SLFPers, said Dissanayake.

They do not have an ethical right to function as MPs of the party any longer.

Joint opposition’s Mahindananda Aluthgamage also refused to accept responsibility by the joint opposition for the incident.

He too, claimed it was the work of outsiders.
