GMP food certification to be made mandatory Featured

The Consumer Affairs Authority is to make the GMP food quality certification mandatory for all hotels, restaurants and other cooked food suppliers from January 01 next year.

This certification is issued by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution, and it has already made application forms available.

CAA chairman Hasitha Tilakaratne says businesses without this certification will be legally dealt with.
