‘No disciplinary inquiry against Mahinda’ - Dilan

Minister Dilan Perera says the party is not so foolish to hold disciplinary inquiries against ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Who took part in the Kirulapone May Day rally were the people who love Rajapaksa, and the SLFP had a fight with the UNP’s Campbell Park rally, not wit h the Kirulapone rally, he told the media in Colombo yesterday (10).

During the Rajapaksa regime, the stance presented on the national issue was not that of the party, but that of the racist opinion of Wimal Weerawansa and the JHU, said Perera.

Weerawansa is trying to sell the SLFP’s most popular leader to promote extremism and racism, he charged.

Asked as to whether the MPs who were present at the Kirulapone rally abhorred SLFP policies, he said no, and remarked they had been there due to their love, attachment and obsession for Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Using that very same obsession, Weeranwansa, Udaya Gammanpila and Dinesh Gunawardena get elected to parliament and then do name-callings against SLFPers, charged the minister.

Perera likened them to political dogs.
