CBSL approves Ananda as NDB Chairman Featured

The Central Bank has approved the appointment of Ananda Athukorala as a director of the National Development Bank (NDB) and to succeed N.G. Wickremeratne as the bank chairman.

An announcement by the bank to the Colombo Stock Exchange yesterday (31) says, "Mr. Atukorala shall succeed Mr. N.G. Wickremeratne as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NDB with effect from Sep. 01."

Earlier, the bank announced that its Director/CEO Rajendra Theagarajah is resigning after serving three years in the post while its chairman N.G. Wickremaratne has stepped down with effect from August 31, “before reaching the age of 70 years’.
