Turkish Exim Bank to fund Deniyaya hospital project

Exim Bank of Turkey has expressed willingness to provide the necessary funding for a 600-bed new base hospital in Deniyaya, a low country tea growing village in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka, says the Ministry of Law and Order and Southern Province Development.

The Bank is to extend a medium or long term loan facility for Sri Lanka to develop new medical facilities in the area under the Health Ministry initiative of improving government rural hospitals.

An approval was given for the project proponent proposal submitted by the Turkish Exim Bank to carry out a feasibility study of the hospital project.

Sri Lanka’s External Resources Department has been directed to write to the project proponent to undertake this feasibility study.
