The FCID has begun an investigation into TPL Inter (Pvt.) Ltd. from which LOLC, chaired by Ishara Nanayakkara, had obtained a bond in order to give a bond for Amtrad Holdings Ltd.’s Rs. 157.5 million loan from Pan Asia Bank, reports say.

This money in the Amtrad account 103111001765 of PABC was transferred to the Central Bank recently.

It has now come to light that TPL Inter’s postal address – 33, Perak Road, Singapore – was the same as that of Mihin Lanka’s Singapore office.

TPL Inter had got registered as a company on 15 Janaury 2007, and had 61C, Strathimore Avenue, # 10-36, Singapore as its registration address.

According to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror, the owner of TPL Inter is the wife of a supervising MP of the Rajapaksa regime.

‘B’ report confirms SLM revelation

Meanwhile, SLM’s revelation about the true owner of the said Rs. 157.5 million has been confirmed by the ‘B’ report.

According to the report, TPL Inter had sent part of the money it has earned through questionable means to two fixed deposits at LOLC.

Later, the money in the two FDs had been transferred to PABC account 103111001765 belonging to Amtrad.

Amtrad director Rohan Abhaya Iriyagolla has told courts the money did not belong to his company.

The report also says a close associate of a minister, Suresh Edirisinghe, had funded CSN, sending Rs. 04 million from his father’s account to Yoshitha Rajapaksa’s account.
